    It's mine, all mine

I spotted a flock of sea gulls in the middle of the city of Melbourne. These two were having a real go at each other

I often feed the sparrows in my backyard, but there are always two cheeky doves that show up to seize the opportunity.
I've noticed that one of them is clearly more dominant, it lifts its wings and drives the other away, who retreats instinctively but soon returns, shyly, to try and grab whatever is left.

Curiously, nothing like that happens with the sparrows, they seem to coexist without much conflict.
Perhaps something similar happened here: a well-spotted opportunity, met with a quick and effective move.
