Project 52 Week 19 Cricket ...
Many of you may associate "cricket" with small insects, distantly related to grasshoppers. However in some countries (mainly England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan and the Caribbean) it is the name of a widely played bat and ball sport played on grass pitches (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket).
It is a bit of a minority sport here in Scotland but does have a variant that has an enthusiastic following - beach cricket played on the sand in front of the Ship Inn, in Elie in Fife (when the tide is out ...).
I went to a game and enjoyed it even though the weather was not too great - the biggest problem was parking and getting a reservation for. lunch!
Here are a couple of shots from the day.

I like these. You have even managed to capture the ball. I assume the bowler aims high to keep the ball above the sand.

Thanks Geoff.
It's usually a good day out - the Ship Inn serves up some excellent food (and beverages) - but you never know where you are going to be with the weather which can be in the mid 20s Celsius but if there's a strong north-easterly can feel like mid 20s Farenheit.
