    Barns and countryside

I've been wanting to shoot these barns for a long time. I've driven by them countless times and not stopped. Well, last week, the weather was great and I made it a mission to capture them. Easiest way to not trespass is just use a drone. Besides, I think it adds a different perspective than the normal everyday ground level shots. I'm glad my drone shoots in raw format also. Very sharp images for a small camera.

    Brian,

#1 is a keeper for sure. #2 & 3 are blown out which I think distracts from some otherwise interesting images.

Kind of strange. #2 and 3 don't look blown out on my laptop. Maybe something changed when exporting to jpg format? Not sure. I'll go back and review. I didn't notice the over exposure in those 2. Thanks for the feedback.

    Brian,

All three photos look good even if most of the sky, with the exception of the far right side, is blown in #2 & #3. I think that cropping the sky out, blown or not, would result in better balanced photos.

That is certainly better quality than most of the drone photos which I have previously seen. The verticals are twisted but that is to be expected with a small camera.

The sky looks a bit bland but it may be worth going back to the original images and darkening it with layers and masking. Alternatively, cropping would be another answer.

I reviewed the #2 and #3 and found they were indeed blown out. So, I think I fixed them. This drone has a 20MP 1" sensor, which is good enough for what I normally shoot. Almost as good as my DSLR.

That’s a great use of the drone—gives a fresh perspective without crossing any lines. Capturing spots you’ve passed by so often must’ve felt satisfying. The light last week really was perfect for that kind of subject. Shooting in RAW definitely helps bring out all the detail too. Curious to see how the edits turn out! For students!
