    Baby magpie

This is this year's baby magpie. She's a funny little bird and I'm hand-feeding her. This shot is taken with the new 100-400mm lens.

Ah well, doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the sharpness on the lens. Those wispy bits of feather below the beak are pretty well nailed for sharpness.

    Enjoy it.

The lens is just so bloody heavy! Scamp is an easier subject than some of the other birds because she's tame.

Once you get the monopod, though, you'll be up and running. Until then, cushions, tops of walls, etc will have to fill the gap. And think of the fees you'll save not having to register with a gym/health club.
