    Camera, computer and post production

Just purchased CS5, Light Room and Silver Efex Pro...any other recommendations? I am going to retire at the end of this school year and pretty much just do photography stuff....and write...and still do my alternative processes work. Already spending my retirement bonus money - can't take it with you, eh...Boy, am I ever ready to leave the classroom behind.

Chris I wish you a long and healthy retirement. You can buy jackets without leather elbow patches now and no more chalk dust You can tell how long it has been since I was at school. Most of my children's teachers are far younger than me

    6. A translation guide for Wirefox's posts
    7. One of thos lean-mean-fat-machine grill things, so you can dump it after three weeks like everyone else.

    10. Teddy bears are always nice.

I wouldn't own a Ferrari (they drive like trucks) but I would love a CiC Camera Strap. Does anyone sell them?

    Donald has a night club?

Yes, and he also has a CiC camera strap. And I'm sure that at this very moment he is posting an image of it.

    You can't have one.

I think it is important at this point to note that Donald does not bring the strap to the nightclub

You don't want to know. At least, not while still working for the school district.

Oh yeah, with a digital back and assortment of lenses...you'll find me in cellblock 6 because I'll have to rob Wells Fargo to afford just the back.

Here's something that you might find useful - a scanner. They're immensely useful for archived photographs, and seeing what can be achieved using modern pp is always fun, and sometimes breathtaking.

There's no need to spend megabucks - my Epson 4490 cost me £150 two years ago, and produces fine results from both prints and film - max film size is 6x9 cm. As with all things photographic, it takes time to achieve the best results.

You can also use a scanner to take pictures! I've done several. Here's one of some glasses. You move the subject across the glass plate tracking the scan light. You need to wear black gloves to do it in order to hide your hands. You can get some really weird light effects, with practice.

This was done on an Epson 3490 Photo scanner (about £100 a few years ago).

Oh, I am so very jealous -- I'm looking at two years to retirement, and I can't wait. At the same time, my husband's company was sold, and it looks as if some of the money is going to be divided among employees -- many thousands of dollars, if it happens -- Italy, here we come. (Can we stay with you, Yegor?)
