Goodbye England
Hi, I was just playing with Gimp and making image partially monochrome. Since this is my first image post on this forum, I found it really appropriate to post an image that was made in the UK (or at least in the territorial waters of the UK). You are looking in the direction of Dover, the white cliffs are hidden in the fog...

Re: Goodbye England
Welcome David to CinC
a terrific shot for your firs post I think...the angle of the fog works well.
The only thing is the watermark, copyright is very distracting right where I feel I'm standing on the boat.

Re: Goodbye England
I think you're right about the watermark, should have been done differently... and I also noticed some dirty spots in the fog that I should have worked on, but I didn't want to take a lot of time doing that, just wanted to play around with desaturation and selections
All the work is done using Gimp.

Re: Goodbye England
Hello David,
good shot. It makes me really feel sad, like a very long goodbye. The flag as the only object in color is a real eye catcher that's a starting point for the eye traveling over the traces on the water towards the fog in the distance.
Bye
Robert
