Helpful Posts: We have spent our first full day in Rio de Janeiro after almost a full day (24 hours) of travel.
Having left home in -20C weather, the 30C+ temperatures in this part of Brazil were a bit of a shock on the system. Hot, hazy and humid with off and on rain all day long. One more day in the big city before we start heading off to some of the more remote parts of Brazil and Bolivia.
This is little more than a snapshot from the roof-top pool area of our hotel; a view of the famous Copacabana Beach at night.

Manfred, this shot is quite spectacular despite its being "little more than a snapshot from the roof-top pool area of our hotel"!

Taken from the Windsor Miramar Hotel in Rio. The Othon Palace was further up the street.
