My name is John (doh!).

I've been taking photographs since I was about 8 y.o.

Many cameras have passed through my hands, from 4x5" to an original Minox, which I still have. Also 6x6, and quite a few 35mm film cameras. Since moving to digital photography, I've had a Nikon Coolpix E5000, multiple FTs cameras and lenses, and, these days, mostly use my 3x mFTs cameras - E-PM2, E-M1 MkI and E-M1 MkII.

I look forward to taking part in this forum.

I spent some 15 years being trolled at DPReview, and since then, decamped to MU-43 and Cameraderie. I'm fairly settled in at both of them, but a friend suggested here. While I've often referred people to here (generally new/relatively new photographers) for miscellaneous technical information, I never realised that there was a forum here.

Had not heard of cameraderie so I had a look. Looks good but odd that there's no mention (that I could find) of who owns and runs the site.

Chat GPT uncovered a bit. I won't post it all here, but some of the edited highlights:

- Originally founded and owned by Amin Sabet, an individual who operated a network of camera enthusiast forums

- Amin’s forums included separate communities for Fuji, Sony, and Leica users, all of which were eventually merged into a single site (initially known as SeriousCompacts.com, later briefly Photographers Lounge, and ultimately rebranded as Cameraderie)

- Around late 2018, Amin Sabet transferred ownership of Cameraderie to a new administrator known to the community simply as Kevin

- Today, Cameraderie is operated by Kevin as the site administrator, with a team of volunteer moderators helping run the community. Kevin (who introduced himself as a web developer and photography hobbyist in his 40s) took on the role of admin/“code monkey” and pledged to maintain continuity when he assumed ownership in 2018

- The moderation team is composed of long-time community members who volunteer their time.
