Shot #1 (pair) is not a good composition, I find. The model is on the left, looking left out of the frame. And let's be honest, it hardly shows him at his best. Who is that famous tog who makes kids cry just so she can photograph them?
#2 (pair) is quite good, but I find that table in the background distracting, and the light on his face is patchy.
Shot #3 (pair) is the best by a long way. Very good composition, looking straight at the camera (perhaps he wants it), caught the eyes well. Tight crop is just right, and gives it good impact. Very nice indeed. Prefer the CS5 version as the face looks more dynamic. I'd be very pleased to have shot this. This one...
he was just visiting today, so it was no real shoot just some snaps
was only wondering if my cs5 correction was ok or not
i my self think the worked versions starts to look more like a painting
That's a pretty good 'snap'! I think the CS5 version of #3 is better because the tonal range in the face looks better and the detail in the face, especially around the eyes has more clarity. It just seems to sparkle a little more than the normal version. What did you do in CS5, and why are you not sure you like them?
crop, dont like center pictures (dead center is deadly)
did mocha fraputio vd berg color toning (on all the pictures) and a skin job (usual stuf )
does it not seem too much plastic to you

In a word yes, they mostly are a bit 'plastic', I steer well clear of effects filters like "mocha fraputio vd berg color toning"Originally Posted by Vandenberg
Also not sure what the "usual skin job" entails, I think too much blur, or not enough (low threshold) sharpening has been applied, or possibly too much noise reduction. Can you give more details of what you did?
The other thing that struck me with all 6 was the wishy-washy grey background tones - you have a nice tonal range and black on the face and eyes, but the background looks too foggy to me.
I am almost tempted to ask for a full size jpg or RAW original of #3 to see what could be done.
Cheers,
Gerber baby food model with the CS5 version.

Ah now, to me, that's much better, it looks so natural.
Technically some might say it was over exposed, but you were shooting fast and these things happen, I know.
I hope I didn't offend, it certainly wasn't intended.
Sometimes when I guess what people have done it comes out of my fingers through the keyboard sounding like an accusation but I don't mean anything by it.
Cheers,
I hope I didn't offend
offcours not, i ask for a c&c my self
over exposure comes from cs5 as well (at least a bit) use my laptop to work them out
and there is a little dead-spot on the laptop (angle of view changes the brightens) and my laptop issuant calibrated with my spider
