    Urban nature

Every body has their own subjects to think off. One of mine is the interaction between people and their environment in the cities. Special how they introduce nature in an urban environment. I don't mean the organized nature but that what's added by the individuals. In some old areas of Amsterdam it's quite strong, in cities as Paris you hardly see it.

A so called "geveltuin", "wall garden".

If this subject is liked I'll post more examples. It's going to be hard to produce different images after a while.

The second picture is a bit off the focus, you should find a good object to point on. Great pics btw!

Maybe that lens is tending to get fractionally soft at the edges, George. The centre areas are perfectly sharp in all these images including the far distance with #1.

Good compositions with what looks like difficult exposure conditions that have been well handled.

I did post a wrong picture. This one was just out of the camera. This one is corrected. Just the white point, contrast and a minimal sharpening.

I hope you can see a difference.

Yes, definitely a slight but noticeable improvement with the latest image, George.

    Re: Urban nature

I've been looking to the picture to figure out what softness was meant. If you mean the street tiles by example thats due to a limited dof, f6.3 70mm and a low point of view. I've to check the distance but I think about 3m.
The lens is a 28-70 2.8D, the predecessor of the 24-70 2.8 of Nikon. Many people think in some way even better as the latter.

With the previous version, George, the image edges and particularly, cycle, steps and door on the left together with the door frame on the right side didn't seem as fully sharp as the centre area, although not exactly out of focus either. But with the edit these areas have nicely sharpened and seem to have increased in contrast as well.

    I think I can explain that difference. A 70mm FF, f6.4, 70mm and a distance of about 3m gives a dof of 69cm, 31cm in front and 38cm behind.
I've more pictures with this subject.

Looks like it's standing here for a while. But no flat tires yet.

Perhaps someone has lost the padlock key?

Just a thought, George. Lose about half of the wheel on the right?

    I don't clone.
Beside that the topic is urban nature. There's a lot to see if you focus on it.

The Subject is on the Roof

Nicely seen and captured, your vantage point does not appear to be centered on that subject; I see the bike rider and the surrounding area more prominent. Your caption helps point out an interesting sight though.

Often you don't see it. You've to focus on it, looking for that added nature. The other pictures are easy to see. They're at eye level.
I made a crop out off that roof picture, just 6x4 laying.

    George,

More pronounced in the cropped image, if able to reshoot I'd just stand somewhere near the base of the building and shoot upward and let the perspective of the building to lead the eyes upward. That would be a natural way of directing the eyes upward, another method might be the use of selective color.

I wonder if aromas, twigs, or something else was being pulled through the vent or the exhaust might've been affecting the plant. Nicely seen and captured.

    Is it a Buddleia?

They grow just about anywhere and force themselves through pavements or exist among walls etc where there is little soil or moisture. A fast growing plant which will reach 5 metres or more so often needs cutting back but quickly regrows.

I trim those in my garden fairly severely each year and they grow back within a few months then flower normally.
