Helpful Posts: A somewhat fanciful title... I was visiting family last week in Ireland (as well as photographing Stained Glass), and heading home from Trim after a very wet day. It was one of those glorious evenings after, with the sky starting to clear and the sun low and near setting as I (we) passed Bective Abbey.
The first image in particular is why I keep trying....

I really love the first one. I get the impression that no's 2 & 3 are leaning to the right, and I don't like the cars in 4

I really like that first shot too. Those two crows in the treetop are perfect. You might consider cloning out the white things in the grass.

Getting verticals and horizontals was a bit difficult since the ruins are not true and the fiel area has a pronounce slope. In #2 I judged the horizon from my cousin's posture!I get the impression that no's 2 & 3 are leaning to the right, and I don't like the cars in 4
What I should have done
was concentrated more on my camera technique and checked the 'in frame' level.
Susan, I noticed the crows at the time , though they seem to have increased in prominence with processing. The 'white' things are an electric fence on the other side of the wooden fence. I did consider removing them ,and the wires, which are also white. Arguably though, the lighter fence post is just as distracting, so I opted to stick for miinimal intervention.You might consider cloning out the white things in the grass.
I had a similar debate with myself over the cars in #4 !

#1 and #3 for me...#1 is aesthetic, very clean shot and I can just feel the slowly warming sun despite the cold. I like number 3 for the colours.

IMO #2 needs some perspective correction and CA fixing. My fav is #3.
