This proves that you don't have to put black material behind a subject to create this effect. Nice soft light displays the shape of the attractive pot. I wonder what you would have thought of the image if you had raised your camera just a bit to get more separation between the front and rear edges of the top of the pot.
Flower not revealing itself![]()
now i can see this; very nice
Thank you Nandakumar.
Interesting and intriguing!
Thank you Judith for commenting.
Nicely composed and exposed.
The flowers look very lively against the black BG JeanThe edges of the pot don't seem even , may be you weren't very careful when masking ?
Thank you John
Thank you Binnur for commenting. you are right I did too fast my corrections on the pot.
I worked on my laptop, so you apologize me![]()
Jean...upon careful inspection, I think you should tidy up the processing a bit...there are some leftover artifacts from everywhere when the image is expanded in lytebox. Just nitpicking...it is a very beautiful flower arrangement worthy of taking a shot.
Hi Izzie,
nitpicking: I didn't know the word, now yes, thank you.
You are right as Binnur, I made some (minor) mistakes in PP of this picture.![]()
my own preference is to leave them in the garden. A bit of flash can give you a black bg in the garden.![]()
Brian I have no garden and even in France there is no such flowers growing naturally
In addition a flash would flatten the image, if you are right about darken the BG (the same indoors, as you choose a less opened f/![]()

You can grow them indoors.

Flowers here are Heliconia bihai (red palulu), strelizia is also a very nice flower.
