These are some of the last photos I took at our hobby farm last winter before our move in the spring. That last winter was relatively kind. It always seems slightly warmer with a bit of snow. That particular day we had a very wet and heavy snow. Afterwards, the sky had an unusual glow. I added some processing to the second shot in an attempt to give it somewhat of a nostalgic look. C and C always welcome.

These work well. Possibly the dog is fractionally close to the frame edge but not a serious problem. Good exposure and focus with all of them.

Three nice shots Suzan but the second image stands out for me.

Nice series. #3 is my pick of the goodies. Just thankful I can enjoy the beauty of such snow shots and don't have to live with it. All that cold, snow shovelling, downed power lines and and thawing problems after the event doesn't sound all that much joy.

The dog doesn't look to happy about leaving.

Thank you all for the feedback. It is much appreciated. Yes, Ken, it is a pain in the neck sometimes dealing with winter, but there are some magical days as well. We have moved to an area of Canada that has milder winters and gives us easier access to major airports so that we can visit our granddaughters in Florida more often. These images were difficult to post as I do miss the farm and sometimes feel a little sad about that.

The second photo is quite special for me and would work just as well though in different ways as a monochrome.

Gee Suzan this reminds me of the little man looking out his front window at a huge blanket of fresh snow covering everything and feeling most despondent at all the work ahead of him to clear paths and driveways. But then he shrugged his shoulders and said to himself, " Cheer up. Things could be worse. " And so he did. And so they were!

I'll bet you hated to leave that place, Suzan. Images with animals positioned off center and looking out of the frame rarely work well. IMO this is one of those rarities. The composition of the first image suggests the dog as protector ready to defend his home. Of course anyone familiar with the breed would suspect the pooch is more likely looking at a ball or a victim to knock down and lick into submission. But photographically speaking I stand by my comments
