The only spider I can find on the web that 'looks' like it has ten legs is the Camel Spider. But when I identified it as a camel i was told that it wasn't.

I was really hoping Geoff would say something like 'what a great looking...'. Alas, no luck so far.

Nope 10 legs though the rear pair are significantly shorter.

I have seen TV programmes where spiders has rear 'appendages' that were used to spin and lay out the web, perhaps they are more that than 'legs' (for walking with)?

This one does have the mandibles at the front to help eat with.
