    Vintage cars

While in northern California I had opportunity to photograph some vintage cars in a remote country setting. I spent the better part of the day with the interesting fellows who restore these vehicles. Caring for my wife after surgery with complications and other responsibilities have kept me off line for weeks but I wanted to share these cool car shots. I hope you enjoy.

#1 The first car is an EMF...I had never heard of it before, if you are unfamiliar with it, click on any image of it on my website and read the text below the image.

Nice shots - very good colours. Are they Topazed? I like #1 the best.

Hope everything is OK at home.

Thank you Carregwen. I believe we are on the road to recovery at home.

I believe all shots above are HDR and I used Topaz Detail on all....it seems to work well if used lightly with things mechanical. I use Topaz quite a bit to take me quickly where I want to go with an image.

I used Topaz Simplify on a couple (below) to get a painterly look.

Nice shots. On one hand the cars are competing with the character of the cabins, on the other hand they sort of complement each other.

I arranged to shoot the cars with the old ranch house to emphasize a rustic and vintage feeling. The guys who build the cars knew the owner of the house and got their permission to use the house as a backdrop. We also scouted out the location with the tree and pastures in the background for a pleasing backdrop. It was really fun to see those old cars tooling down the dirt road.
