    Jim, This may be a great photo in terms of what you captured but I don't like it.
    The photograph is way too busy. The purple flowers overwhelm the photo. I had to look hard to find the spider

    Yes, two subjects equally strong and mutually nullified; but i think once the carnivorous event is over you must capture the flower and post it here; it is so beautiful.....

    Thanks all and agree not a wall hanger but still a rare find to me.

    I think if you crop a little off the left side to remove some of that distracting background then selectively tone down the other bright background spots you will definitely have a keeper with this image.

    Maybe not a prizewinner but still a worthwhile entomological record photo. Crab spiders hunt by hiding themselves among flowers which is nicely demonstrated here.

    Perhaps I would try slightly and selectively brightening the spider and butterfly.
