    One proud peacock

A set of images of one very proud peacock.
In image 2 there is not detail below the left wing, what could I have done to alleviate this problem.
I used a Canon 1100D, Canon EF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM lens, exposure 1/50sec at f 6.3, focal length 160mm and ISO 100 (hand held).

A beautiful bird and nice series Gary. It seems that the lack of detail below the left wing is a DOF problem. You shot the photo with f/6.3. May be a shot with f/8 would be better for the wing but then there may not have been a seperation from the BG as good as the one above. I like them all but the last one is my fav

To get more DoF, you can either zoom out a little and loose some fine detail or stop the lens down to say f/11 and loose some light.

You are already relying heavily on optical image stabilization as you are shooting at 1/50 sec and 160 mm. Do not be afraid to increase the ISO to avoid camera shake and motion blur.
