Question is Brian, who pierced it?

Is that the leg of some giant bug in your garden?

Or a bit of bamboo that's grown (left to right?) through the leaf?

Or did you or your gardener drive it through there as some form of structural support (for something)?

Interesting shot though; raises more questions than it answers

There I was sitting trying for a shot that wasn't working when I turned around and saw this shot.

It is indeed a small bit of bamboo. I have no idea how it came to be where it is. But the area has a lot of bamboo and there has been a bit of wind lately.
