That first shot is especially beautiful. I don't think it's an orchid, but I could be wrong. It just doesn't have the right structure for an orchid. Love to see the whole plant. It's a wildly interesting flower, and not just from a male perspective.

Jim, you are probably correct. I shot this in the Kew Gardens in the same area as the orchids. For some reason, I did not shoot the ID sign for the flower (or there was not an ID that I saw). I have a shot of the entire flower stalk, and I'll get that posted in a couple of days.

Almost looks like a damselfly sitting on top of the stem with eyes aglow in the first one.

Hi John
They are both beautiful flowers. What about cropping the bottom blown out part of the seond image? You would also have to crop some of the pink leaf to eliminate the entire blown part but I don't think it would look bad as there are already some cropped leaves in the image
