    Ganges oarsman

I've started to rework some of my better shots from my trips to India.

Working on a large screen and with a proper set of tools makes things so much easier and gives me far better results,

    Ganges oarsman

We were in a similar boat looking at the ghats along the banks of the Ganges River, in Varanasi, India when we felt a bump. Another row boat had bumped into ours, so I turned around, composed and got this image. The subject is the young oarsman who is trying to maneuver around the boat we were in. The two out of focus boats on the left provide context.

    Viewing in Lightbox is recommended.

He does indeed, Richard. A dapper young fellow, with questionable colour sense. I went B&W because of his bright mauve coloured shirt.

..and the two oars provide particularly strong lead lines. Very nice study, conversion and image overall.

Was just about to ask, Manfred, why B&W. This looks like a pic that may work very well in colour ...?

This image is not quite a polished as the B&W.
