Wonderful how both the light and the lines lead the eye through the image, which makes me want to walk through the open gate and see the property from other perspectives.
Nicely composed and processed.
Oh yes. Immediately made me think of Constable.
Wonderfully composed rural landscape picture made into a wonderful image by high quality processing.
Looks good but there is quite a bit of foreground so I wonder about a tiny crop from the bottom and a balancing amount from the sides?
John, this is a very nice photo.

Love the composition and the processing. In keeping with my own yearning for pre-industrial landscapes, I'd probably do a version with the electric wires and pole removed, but it's most excellent regardless.
A beautiful, peaceful and quiet scene. Coming from a rural background, I think you've really captured the "feeling" of this location. Good job.
You should upload more landscapes John, it is a beautiful image.Lovely composition and great PP![]()
Beautiful scene and lovely B and W conversion.
This has a look of a still photograph from a 30's era Hollywood film, like from an opening scene. I agree about the power lines, assuming of course you're looking for that pre-industrial look. I don't know about cropping the sides but a bit from the bottom, absolutely.
Gotta love the grainy blk/wht piece out standing capture and the tones are right on.
I love it!
Many thanks for all the positive comment.
Kevin, now there's a conundrum. You're right and I distinctly remember cloning out the wire (but not the poles) because they cut across the hillside. I must have another version somewhere.
Jack/Geoff, I'm OK with Kevins suggestion. It could stand a crop from the bottom although I don't dislike it as it is. I wouldn't want to bring the sides in though because I like the feeling of vista.

I'm with Donald on that issue. I would consider eliminating telephone poles and wires in a scene with an open pasture but I would consider leaving them in place when there are buildings and other indications of modern use in the scene.
I think Kevin's point was to do with a "yearning for pre-industrial landscapes". In that context I would be making a representative image and I see his point. As a pure record of course, there is no reason to eliminate any modern artefact. I'm not going to pretend that I had either course in mind. I was just was pleased with the result given that I don't do that much landscape.
Truly magical... i forgot for a while that there is something called colors!!!!![]()
Good scene selection, good lighting, good composition, good processing. What more can be said?
