Ha-HA......I think he wanted to keep his left hand clean so not to have needed another glove, when served the made crepe .......

I think this is missing a lot of middle tones to beef it up a bit. This should be fixed before teh conversion
A slight misframing with empty space on the right and the girl clipped on the left.

perhaps moving the right side in a bit so the clipping of the girl isn't so obvious

To tell the truth, when I took the photo, I did not see anything funny in it, found nothing special regarding the image either, and only posted it, as I was looking for something to post......and the resulting comments, did open my eyes to the funny side of the image now .......

Yes, I think it is sort of empty.
The problem with criticizing contrast is that most people think of contrast meaning that the image has tones that are white and some tones that are black.
I think that most images look better when the image histogram shows a good concentration of middle tones with some at both the white and black end.
THis is best fixed in color before conversion.

I like the edit, Griddi, more contrasty...I agree I do not understand black and white or mono but when my eyes like what I am seeing, then it is good enough for me. No need to be technical about it.
