    You've done well to bring out the colour here. I also like your use of the negative space on the left, it would be tempting to crop but I think it works well as it is.

    I agree. Not a lot of light around to bring out some contrast but you have managed to capture all of the detail well.

    Awesome composition and techs. The way you set this one up is an awesome opportunity for a great portrait type shot. Did you capture a similar frame with the feathers un-ruffled?

    Thanks for the comments, greatly appreciated. The camera settings for this was Nikon D500, Nikon 500mm f/4, 1/1600, ISO1600. Handheld from a kayak.

    @Dan I did manage several shots, the grey sky was only behind the bird briefly as I drifted past.
