Another Farm: A visit to Sissinghurst in Black and White

Nice weather today so we went to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens. A place with an interesting history in the 20th century. Playing around with the results I tried Mono because all the photos in the place were monochrome and it seems to suit the architecture, the gardens were another matter.

Of course. The crops may not be identical.

I like the second one, first is a bit soft in focus.

I've been using B&W more often these days and liking it much more, but in this instance I prefer the colour - maybe because I have been to Sissinghurst and know what a riot of colour there is there. I particularly like your Oasthouse shot - the wild flowers are just beautifully captured and I know how difficult it is to do fields like this justice as I have never succeeded to my satisfaction

I knew by looking at the original post that I will like the coloured version because of the flowers..

Hi Brian I like the second and forth images in the B&W set.I like #1 too but I think highlights need reducing a bit. The color images are also very nice .
