Bed time for Starlings.
Taken on the North Pier in Blackpool. I had originally gone to try and catch the Starlings going to roost under the pier but as you can see, I was slightly too late so I took some shots of the pier instead.

I agree with John. These are very pleasing images. I like the choice of monochrome, especially in the first one.

I am glad you took the image of the pier itself as it lends to accompany the starlings there beautifully. If asked to choose, I prefer #1 -- just the one person on the bridge makes it a stronger composition.Maybe lose a bit on the bottom perhaps? as that takeaway store is more stronger...I don't know...

Thanks Izzie , Jim Kay and Dave. I must go back. The original idea was to use the pier as a lead in to the Starlings making those wonderful shapes before they finally all dive down to roost. It will need to be after the end of the holiday season though when the holiday makers have departed and things quieten down again.
