Nice capture, looks like a Soldier Beetle, a member of the Cantharidae family of beetles. Yours looks identical to a similar beetle I've been seeing recently here. (I'm sure the beetle really appreciates having a proper name )

I'm not sure that the framing works for me. It makes the image look darker than it actually is. I usually only frame an image when I intend to print it.

It does give the overall image a kind of 'antique' feel , reminiscent of slide images I use to produce back in the 'dark ages' of the 60's and 70's.

the frame is for my blog where it pretty much fades away leaving me with nicely rounded corners. A Soldier Beetle in our peace garden? Maybe we are making a difference.

Thank-you. I have been working on composition for a while. In a day or two my macro lens should get here and then things will change.
