    A great shot Monte, of a superb bird and especially good as it was from a kayak. We are lucky if a handful of these lovely birds make it across the water to our shores.

    BTW I'm pretty sure it is a female. The sexual dimorphism in phalaropes is opposite the normal and female phalaropes are more brightly coloured than the male.
