I may be wrong but I believe when the Tamron arrives sometime this month the standard will slip for a while.

No I do not believe you will find that, but your frustration level will rise for a short while until you accommodate to its shooting characteristics.

And I'd love to know what happened if your insect was brave enough to try the 'high wire'
