Re: Fuchsia
Dan, this is an attractive photo. Did you shoot it in the studio or outside (and somehow achieve the black background)?

Re: Fuchsia
I really like this one, Dan. Great color and detail really set off by the black BG. My only suggestion would be to have left a bit more space at bottom/right. I think it would make the bloom stand out even more. Well done.

Re: Fuchsia
Dan, I expected to see a great image when I clicked your thread, and I was not disappointed. I agree with NorthernFocus about the extra space. Would also like to see the entire flower as another version. Finally, would be interesting to see a version with some colored bg. But I still love this one as is, too. Nice!

Re: Fuchsia
Very nice image Dan. Good stack too. Nice soft lighting. Was about to suggest the same as Dan (NorthernFocus) & Matthew about the extra space.

Re: Fuchsia
Very beautiful, Dan...how many stacks did you have here? I am sure this is a studio shot...

Re: Fuchsia
As the other have noted, a stunning image, Dan. Sharp and the colors stand out against the black background.

Re: Fuchsia
Great lighting because it shows the shape, color and texture. The diagonal composition is really strong, but I agree with the others that more space in the bottom right area would strengthen it even more.

Re: Fuchsia
Thanks, all. I rechecked my workflow, and tightening at the bottom was actually my last, perhaps too impulsive step. I'll post the version with a bit more room below.
Bruce, Izzy, and Mike--I shot this indoors, with a black fleece vest as a background. I blackened the background further in post. The lighting was a single reflective umbrella placed right over the flower. I tried more complex lighting twice, but I got too much glare. It's a 14 shot stack, stacked in Zerene DMap.
Dan
