    Jasper

Six years of having a camera pointed at him means he's happy to pose for pictures whenever I want him to...

Lovely image of a beautiful dog. His personality seems to ooze from this picture of him...

I don't seem to recognize the breed or breeds he displays...

He's s rescue dog, lovely natured but a bit thick

As far as we can tell he's a Springer Spaniel crossed with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, could be a bit of Collie in there too.

Robin... What an unusual combination but it certainly seemed like it turned out quite well.

So many wonderful characteristics, but I just have to mention the terrific relationship between the horizon and the dog's eyes. Well done!

Consider cloning to remove the dead blossom on the left and the stem supporting it.

    Thanks Mike - and Binnur.

The eye level is just chance I'm afraid.......well I suppose I could argue there is a bit of my subconscious composition brain that does things like this automatically without me thinking about it but you'd never believe me

As to the cloning then I could but I tend to leave stuff as-is. I'm not for, god help me, any kind of anti-editting nazi but I do tend to just leave stuff on personal images. Good spot though and yes now I see it there is good cause to stamp it out.

Robin...this is a beautiful mix and his face shows it -- he looks worried about you going down there on the ground to get this shot...

    Re: Jasper

He'd was staring off to the right, rabbits most likely, when I was lining the shot up but a quiet whisper of his name always has his head whipping round to face the camera and a whistle will et him to cock it to one side. I have all three in the sequence but the intensity of his stare on this one draws you in.

I will add a nod to my XF35mm f1.4R lens which time and time again delivers crackin' good results. It has become my day-to-day shooting companion often with me leaving everything else at home and just shooting with that fixed focal length. My tentative years were all conducted with a nifty-fifty so it could just be that I 'see' with that FoV - I don't know - but its a fantastic bit of glass and one I'll keep for a very great deal of time.
