Fantastic use of a normally challenging situation. In the past I have at times become frustrated with photographing trees because I cannot obtain the shape in the way I want and the sky is so bright it blows everything out. This photo gets around that neatly by not even trying to expose the details and choosing instead to show the structure in maximum contrast.

An inspiring creative choice and one that I will certainly emulate in difficult situations in the future.

    Well done.

I tried some back-lit oak-leaf shots this spring, when the leaves were young and translucent. Same idea but your shot is very nicely defined. Haven't seen any flowering dogwoods around here yet . . .

Dogwoods are late in Texas, Ted?

Anyway, good inspiration, Ziggy. Well done!
