    Verdict ?

The 'House' Wine served at the wedding I attended in Franschhoek a few weeks ago

    Verdict ?

For those of you who may be interested, here are the notes.....

A well structured wine, deep garnet in colour, black fruit, ripe mulberries, cherries and spice on the nose. A wonderful textured mouthfeel, ending elegantly soft and silky. A wine only made in exceptional years. Aged in 10 barrels for 17 months. A full round food friendly wine with zesty lime finish. 88% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot & 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. But there is none left - we drank it all.

The sunset over the vineyard was pretty spectacular too

    Verdict ?

    C&C welcome

Nicely done, I like the use of the tulip as a pseudo glass. Nice golden colors in the sunset.

    Re: Verdict ?

I would consider cropping a little from the right side of the first image. For me, there is a fraction too much bland out of focus area.

The second one looks a lot better in the lightbox option but a pity about that bit of lens flare just to the right of the centre line.

I like #1 between the two...after reading your commentary, it made me smile why you took the shot of only a portion of the bottle -- because the rest was empty. It must have been that good.

Indeed Izzie - empty and not the only one !

Thanks for comments. Geoff I'll play with the first but this time disagree with you on the second - I know lens' flares divide opinion, but in this instance I think it adds to the image.

Both of these images are filled with warmth and contentedness. I became so relaxed while viewing that I could not be bothered looking for nits to pick.

Thanks Julian - indeed it was a mellow evening.

Geoff - a cropped version. It changes the perspective a bit - but I like it.

That crop concentrates more on the bottle instead of having some background distractions.

I agree. A very good composition that puts the wine in a context; i.e. a celebreration.

A very good image, Kaye. And well complemented by the image of the vineyard. Thank you too for the wine notes.
