Nice capture... Why do they call it "walking" iris?

Nice capture. Maybe it would benefit from being a little brighter?

This type of shooting gives my artistic side an outlet it has missed... I'm quite enjoying it.

I asked myself the same question. Apparently as the plant grows and matures the flower bearing stalks bend and eventually root themselves away from the plant. n time they 'walk away'. At least that's the story I read.

I tried it brighter but on my monitors it quickly became glaringly bright. But if i had the subtlety it could go a gnats breadth brighter.

I wondered about brightness so I copied the image and opened it in Photoshop and then used NIK Viveza selection points to select the yellow of the flower with brightness +15, contrast +10, saturation +10, and finally structure +25

    Result:
Yellow Walking Iris ~ The Cross
