This is a 75 year old aircraft. A civilian aviation instructor, Cornelia Clark Fort, was flying one of these aircraft when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. She managed to get back to the field from which she was flying but was strafed on landing but, survived unhurt.
Ken Pietsch flys this particular aircraft as an advertisement for the Jelly Belly Candy Company.
His most famous trick is landing the little airplane on a truck driving down the runway. It is really quite spectacular.
Just when I thought that the trick was over, the truck with the plane on its roof accelerated to about 60 MPH (about 95 km per hour) and the plane flew off the truck...

The U.S. Army flew these aircraft as observation planes in WW-II and called them "grasshoppers". I think that it would be fun to fly a plane that could take off from a short runway at 60 miles an hour...
