Yes it looks good to me.

Having what looks like a dead thistle in the foreground may seem to be an unusual foreground subject but it does act as an 'anchor point' which gives a sense of perspective to the rest of the scene

I like the composition - but the greens are a little to bright to my taste

Nice image (thistle and all). You have me wanting to sit under the tree and spend the afternoon looking at the clouds. That looks like a great way to spend a late summer day...

Thanks John and Binnur. Yes, it is a sort of HDR - one file used twice.

Thanks Geoff. I like to use anything with a bit of texture to add interest to the foreground - the thistle was handy here.

Thanks Kaye. I see what you mean about the greens. The composition was somewhat fortuitous: I originally uploaded a rectangular composition with more trees on the right, but the preview showed more or less what I have now and I preferred it and re-cropped.

Thanks Manfred. I'm lucky that this spot is only 15 minutes away by car then a mile over the fields. I visited again last week: no leaves on the trees yet, though I did see a farmer deliver two lambs just near here. The hawthorn blossom will be out soon....
