I like that. There's always something about old doors and brick or stone walls. It just needs a slight crop at the bottom to remove the white strip.
Thanks Tony, and thanks for the heads up, that white sliver was the remains of a rotational crop. Got by me, fixed it and re-posted with the image fixed. Thanks again.
Well seen and processed Jack. A little crop off the bottom might work, I'd crop level with where the path starts.
I like it Jack, great composition and conversion. Love the peeling paint on the door.
Thanks Simon. Although your crop would work I think I prefer it the way it is, I had considered more off the bottom but then I lose the base (or what base there is) of the tree and I think the short bit of walk leading up to the door grounds it better.
Thanks Matt, it was the peeling paint that really sang to me, as well of course as this rather odd door stuck in a wall for no apparent reason. Still don't know what was on the other side.
Thanks John.
That's great; this might work in color as well![]()
Thanks Nandakumar, the color version is kind of washed out, the bricks are a pale red and the white areas look like chipped/peeling whitewash, nothing striking about the color version, which is why I converted it.
Jack -- I think my brain is a little bit the odd man out. I like everything that I had seen so far including the peeling paint and the textures and all but I write and read from left to right and that tree to me represents the start of a capital letter that starts a sentence so I feel that this image should be flipped horizontal. You do not have to do it if you do not want to...It is just my opinion...
Really neat image Jack. I like the conversion.
Izzie! I flipped the image as you suggested (and feel free to do so) but to me it didn't work. Not sure if it's just because I'm used to seeing it in this orientation but, when I flipped it, that upper left hand corner of dark leaves moved to the upper right...man it just did not work for me. On the other hand, no matter flipped or not did you notice the face in the branches of the tree, upper right hand side ('cause I know, like me, you see faces everywhere)?
Thanks Mark!
Nice one, Jack. I love old doors and windows.
Yes, Jack, I did -- but you know I had started very quiet about 'seeing faces' so I have to restrain myself in opening my big mouth before someone jump on me again about that...between you and me, those are thevery first things I look in an image -- another image. It is fun but we have some 'image-police' here...unfortunately. And you know me, I like fun.

I would like a colour version and if washed out, good. Sometimes that actually works.
Cheers Ole
Thanks Dan. I know what you mean, which to me is why I did a b&w conversion.
Izzie, if you remember we were both scolded for pointing out faces![]()
