Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

1 A shopping area from Southbank? I am not sure...Taken from a double decker bus, one of those I spied with my little eye...

Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

2 Hophouse German Restaurant -- tired coming from the Eureka Towers, we decided to go to Southbank for lunch at this German Restaurant, as per Bill's request. He was dying to have sauerkraut with this meal. Two shots I did --

a : Rows chair on the wall atop to the food prep section. I wonder if this is just for decoration OR in case the restaurant is busy, this is where they get extra chairs???

Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

b The food prep area. I think the handsome guy at the left is the chef. He is more serious than the guy on the right...

Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

3 The Dinosaur -- this scene is sort of far away from us, almost at the end of a shopping area but I manage to get a good shot and it has to be quick because the bus was moving from traffic ... sorry about the butt shot...

Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

    4 Foot brdge...
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

5 I will have to call this bridge a tram bridge...sorry, lack of brain at nearly 4am...
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

    6 Melbourne Exhibition Building
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

7 Sidewalk Sculpture -- did not get to see the label of this sculpture. Taken atop the restaurant balcony.
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

8 The Proud Musician...I have to remove a lot of things in this image as this is really a footpath leading to Southbank...
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

9 and last but not the least ...without trucks, Australia stops... The Truckies -- actually, I like the bald guy's head...made me wonder if my two sons needed a haircut.
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

Thank you all. When I have more time I will edit some more...any comments will be welcome with enthusiasm...

Interesting series Izzie, looking forward to seeing some more. It may be my monitor but a couple of them seem a little 'washed out' I took the liberty of adjusting the levels a bit on #4 and this works a lot better for me (perhaps a little over done):
Street photography, et al...for C&C please..

Izzie, I went the same route you travelled a week ago. I especially like your photo of the Proud Musician, he has been performing there for quite a while. I think your best photos are the kitchen scene and The Truckies. I do also think your butt shot is a bit of good butt butt that is only my opinion. Good street photos Izzie and fun too.
    Cheers Ole

Nice set Izzie. I agree with Richards comments. The "Truckies" is my favorite. I also think the "food prep" shot is very good but would be nicer with some noise reduction.

Nice series, I get some of my best shots from the top of double decker buses.
2a, nicely captured, like a work of art, too bad about the distraction at bottom.
2b, "I should be the chef, look at this hack"! Nicely captured.
3, my favorite of the series.
4, Nicely framed, good use of layers within the scene.
5, a very busy scene but a good view of what citizen's see everyday.
6, nicely processed, the MEB sign is a composition of itself.
    7, nicely composed.
8, his coloring is dazzling, the background a bit blown out.
9, nicely processed, lots to keep the eyes moving within the scene.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

Excellent set of images; all are fine. When there are human faces, they sweep away most part of your attention. More than anything I was watching the different faces with different mood and expressions; and the most striking one is the kid's face watching the dino

Izzie, these are a lot of fun. I like them all although I agree with the others about the technical points. I like the erhu player in #8 even though the background is a bit blown out. His hat doesn't seem very Chinese.

I have been to Melbourne a few times in the last few years, including last Easter, but I never get to see the city centre. I still have not seen Federation Square which is just showing in your #5.

Izzie, this is a really nice set of images. They are all good but my favorites are the first four.

#1 I like the two yellow signs with legs and how they match the two men walking down the center.
#2a Those chairs on the wall are interesting and something most people would not take a picture of.
#2b I like the ambiguity of both of their expressions.
#3 Very cute and endearing with the dinosaur and the child.

    I enjoyed viewing.

Thanks Richard...very nice...I know the background of the musician is washed out. I removed a traffic light there and used Viveza's control points. I should have done some more. Thanks for the edit and the comments. It is very helpful. I appreciate it very much.

Yes...it is my favourite too. I like the pose of his face. There's a lot more to this shot than just him. I have captured his tent too or was that a big umbrella? Then decided to zoomed in to him in pp. Thanks for the comments. I am glad you enjoy them.

Thanks Sam...I had replaced the previous image posted with a new one using the noise reduction that Simon sent a link of in another post. I had subscribed to that website too.

Thanks for the comments and suggestion.Do appreciate it a lot.

Thanks for this suggestion. I was dog tired but I needed to stand up anyway so titling wasn't of much help at that time...

For the first time, I didn't see the need to go to Color Efex, would you believe that?!

Yeah...I didn't think of it that way you interpret these shots. But I know for a fact that while waiting for our lunch to come, I stood there just looking and thinking. I knew I had lost most of the opportunities presented to me but I will try to learn...The dino shot was too far away. It was a lucky shot...Thank you for your comments. Sometimes it is nice to pick your brain, the way you interpret images... 'Appreciate it.

Everything else in his push trolley is. He even have a poster with some Chinese characters in them...

There is nothing much to see in Federation Square...oh some demo going on or some Kiwi in their native clothes shaking their booties or something...and a firetruck with firemen doing nothing but talking. I think the place is more of a hanging out than anything else. That structure peeking at #5 is just it, the nicest piece of work of art or something. That's it! Or I am blind...

Thanks for passing by...it was nice to read your comment.

I tried several crops there until I finally realized those two can be framing something...thank you. That shot looked worst before pp...

Thank you Sergio...I am glad you like some of them. There are some more from other places I visited and will post as soon as I edit them. Thank you so much for your comments and preferences. It certainly helps a lot to improve my shots. So much to learn...

I noticed the difference right away, very nice. Could you point me to that link sometime?

Good shots Izzie. For me I like 9,6,7 and 3. 9 & 6 because they work best for me as street photography, I like the conversion and there is a good interest factor for me. 7 for the humor and the whole feeling of the image, this huge, monstrous figure staring right back at us and of course 3, for the humor and contradiction of a dinosaur strolling down the sidewalk. The little boy looks absolutely unimpressed although the older boy in the background appears a bit more...startled?

A nice set Isabel 3,6,7,9 for me . Did you use a white vignette in #6? The image looks a bit pale especially at the bottom corners. If so I would remove the vignette to see how it works. I would also try some noise reduction. #9 is a very good conversion.

Hope this helps...it did to me. I used to use Dfine and all those other craps but this one above is the easiest to follow. Must the way Adam has presented his tutorials, just right for my understanding. Others are easy too but boring or terminologies seems to escape me. When it does, I usually feel my eyes hurting I have to get out and do something else instead...
