    A shower in the country

I took these pictures last WE.
I'm wondering if the crop in the first one works or not: I'm not so proud of this composition, however I was under the rain and I was afraid the camera would quickly soak up some water, so I did not spend 2 seconds thinking about composition.
As always your C&C is very appreciated.

How about these... I cropped a bit and worked with NIK Viveza using the structure and contrast as well as the shadow detail sliders...

    Hi Nicola,

I do quite like #1, lots of layers to the landscape - I just wish I could see a bit more to the left of the image.

In #2, I don't think the clouds contribute much, my interest is in the landscape, which I'd like to see bigger. To my eyes; the clouds suggest the shot needs a clockwise rotation, but I think it is an illusion.

    Hi Richard,

Normally I like your 'reprocessings', but on this occasion, for me, it has gone a bit too far with the contrast and saturation.

    Cheers, Dave

For me, Nicola, the first image works OK but maybe a very slight crop from the foreground. I'm not keen on the brighter out of focus foreground in the second image. I would think about cropping that one from the bottom and going more panoramic like #1.

Starting from your feedback (thanks a lot),
I've processed the #2 as follows: I tried to emphasize the hilltop farmhouse, without overcooking the picture. Although the post processing is quite strong, since I almost swapped the sun lit area with the shady one.

Good edit Nicola - that has, for me, really improved the picture.
