If you did not mention it, I wouldn't have known what his purpose was in being there and would have guessed. One can make up a heap of story as to why he is there and his isolation compared to the background is excellent and at the right place. I actually like the composition...A song that hums in my mind is "You and me against the world..." by Helen Reddy, one of my favourite songs. If you look at the tall buildings and structures behind the guy and his boat, you would be thinking of this song too.
