    Brian - one question about the shot (which, by the way, is very nice). It looks like the flower has been sprinkled with sugar. Are these specular highlights (i.e. glare off the plant's surfaces)?

    Certainly the sun brings it out but the sugar like coating is always there at this stage of development. The unopened lower blossoms (in the shadows) have it as well. Bragging here but it is one of my better efforts. I have changed my workflow to correct the exposure (your consistent hammering away is one of the reasons ) at the start.
