    Golden Gate Bridge

I had the opportunity to make a trip to the San Francisco area. The weather was going to be sunny and warm (i.e. no fog, no rain - both common this time of the year). One of the items on my list was to get some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. This is from the bay side on the San Francisco side. After taking this shot, I walked across the bridge to the other side.

I think it does need some perspective control. It was pretty easy to adjust using CS6>Edit>perspective...

Nice shot of the bridge. I like seeing all of it in one shot.

Thank you for all the comments. I'll check on the perspective. I know the tower closest to the camera is vertical (I did verify that is PS).

I regretted no being able to photograph the bridge when we were there...but I will content myself with this image because it is almost perfect. I like it.

I did exactly the same thing in September 1990. Walked all the way down to Sausalito and then got a ferry back across. Got a pic almost exactly like the one in this thread. Happy, happy memories of being with my dear, late Sheila. Thanks for posting.

Thank you Izzie and Donald for your comments. Izzie, I share your regrets. I was in San Francisco nearly 5 years ago, and the weather was not cooperative for me to photograph the bridge. While I enjoyed the visit, I felt that it was not complete without the Bridge shot. This time the weather made up for it.

    Re: Golden Gate Bridge

Something most people don't know about. there is a civil war era fort under the south end of the bridge. The building on the lower left. Could be some interesting photo opportunities there.

We went to San Francisco to attend a meeting with the guys from Bill's old TWA group. The view from the hotel (Westin) was great and I think that was Good Morning America that was shooting down Union Square at the time. Bill decided we do not have anything in common with the old TWA guys we met so we went on our own to look for some shellfish and do some shopping. Then went to the Golden Gate Bridge or near it, but did not insist on going nearer. It was all overwhelming to me and I have the wrong lens and the sun was too high in the sky, etc. We stayed the whole weekend but I hardly know how to operate my camera. Things changed since I joined CiC -- the best thing I ever did in my life so far, well, apart from having kids like we have. I'll get better...not there yet but I had learned a lot since.
