    Looks good, you should apply some of your dark tone technique to make some of the bulbs stand out.

    I want this a little bit reddish to pop its colour out some more...it looks bland on this side of the pond...

    that could be. I did try to leave it a bit light and i had to take down the really bright bg.

    This scene had a potentially disastrous background, full of over exposed areas; but you have nicely avoid that problem with perfect exposure.

    I realized the other day that before we bought the Sony that I had taken some pretty good shots with the Fujifilm using Aperture priority. I also realized that I could get the control and freedom I psychologically need by combining AP with RAW and actively using the Exposure compensation feature. This is one of the first results and I'm pleased with it.
