    Kelp Rock

OK for any of you who may have been expecting a large rock please accept my apologies. I was reminded of this image after replying to a thread started by Janis (Purplehaze).
The image was taken on the Isle of Islay in June 2015 but only recently brought out of hibernation to be processed.

As always I would welcome your thoughts, comments or criticisms.

Sir, as a piece of information, it is good; but as a piece of art it does not work for me; please don't feel bad

There are some very interesting parts to this image. Suggest you play with various croppings to find one that excites you. I can see several that I would be happy to have done. Something that makes you want to look more. Then do whatever post processing is needed on that more narrow image to make it pop. I would start with the corner of the dark rock with a few strand of kelp on it or with the mass of coiled kelp, eliminating the rest. Only would know what might work by trying it. Play is an important part of creativity!

I like the texture of the kelp itself and of course the rock where it rested on. The colour is wonderful with different gradients playing with the light. The little colourful peebles will be a good photo op too. The texture of the rock can be another photo op waiting to be tap too. If this kelp is still wet and flexible, maybe play with it like ribbons then take a shot??? Nice job on the processing. Ooopsss...this was taken ages ago...silly me...sorry.

After reading Judith and Izzie, i contemplated upon the image and found some potential part ready to be worked upon..... Since Peter is OK to edit, with his kind permission, i made a variation.... , only as a friendly gesture

Love the subject and the colour contrast, Peter, but I have the same instinct as Judith. One of the crops I see is something like this:

Great insight. And then I prefer Janis' crop than Nandakumar's as the context is not lost.

Here is a quick approach to showing more of the kelp tangle..I have done nothing except cropping your fine base image.
