Lets Rock & Roll!
Don't fence me in.
The weather has changed again and is cold and wintery. This flax bush has been asking for a photo for a long time now and today the backlight was just what I pictured for the mood I wanted to create.

Kit,
I really like this shot. Contrast with the sky is great combined with the muted colour!
cheers,
James
Great image, Kit: everything works together in the sky, fence geometry, and just a touch of color on the plant.
Cheers,
Rick
EXIF here, PAD album here.
I wanted to get away from the macro stuff today. I took pictures of the family pets before, but my sister's black lab was a problem: she's never still for more than about 1/500s. So I tried again during our cookout. I had one RF-triggered flash to add some fill. It's a little soft, but better than I got before.
But while we were there, I went down to the creek, and there was this damsel fly. How could I resist?
EXIF here.
C&C greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Rick
Very detailed! awesome shot man!

Thanks, Rob;
Yes, it's the 500D. If you click on the words "Canon EOS REBEL T1i" in the EXIF page in Flickr, you go to another page where the fine print says "Also known as Canon EOS 500D, Canon EOS Kiss X3." And Chriss is correct, it's the EF 100mm f/2.8L macro: I really love it. The EXIF has that, but it's way down the list, which seems very strange. I'm remembering your comment from before, that Flickr has a lot of power, but is rather clunky in spots. I've certainly found that to be the case.
Cheers;
Rick
Well done, Colin: they look like perfect magazine images, sharp and perfectly defined against a neutral background. I take it the keypad is lit: it comes through that way, anyway. If it isn't, I'm suing for false advertising.
Cheers,
Rick

As usual, there are many, many good pictures here again today.
Thanks,
Very nice, Rob - nice concept and composition, and the G1 certainly captures the image to support it.
Cheers,
Rick
A wonderful shot, Jeroen: the spiral and all the planes with textures scattered in. Just spectacular.
Cheers,
Rick
I really, really like that first one, Dave - classic pose, with him (or her) rubbing his hands, and a great capture.
Cheers,
Rick
