    Cloud formation...for C&C

When I came down from this airplane, an 8-seater Caravan, I went inside the hangar and turned around and saw this cloud formation and took a shot. I think that for this trip this is the most meaningful shot I ever had...it was our surprise ride from Creve Coeur airport to Florida and back.

(I tried to upload this image several times awhile ago but it doesn't want to upload so this is my second try). I think it is overprocessed after I did the output sharpening, but I still like the cloud formation. Please C&C. Thanks.

A striking photo of a striking cloud effect. You get that kind of formation when the winds are blowing in different directions at different altitudes.

It's not a straight shot but to call it over processed doesn't do it justice Izzie. IMHO, it's a very pleasing treatment that bring the cloud out beautifully. Good composition as well.

That's a striking sky Izzie. Not sure what PP you have done but I would be wary at the treetops horizon.

Looks better at full screen size. Maybe the truck appears a fraction over sharpened but nothing to really worry about.

The right side hedge produces slight fringing probably due to the light angle but once again, nothing serious. A couple of dust spots in the sky on the right which I would clone out, although you do have to look closely to find them.

So all in all; quite acceptable and definitely an interesting sky.

That's really a cool shot Izzie. It is a bit over sharp. But content is awesome. You can fix the PP.

I can see why you like the clouds, Izzie. They are very, very striking. The plane and the fuel tanker balance the grouind

That being said, I'll have to agree with Grahame. There are visible artifacts that come from pushing an image too hard in post.

One of your nicest shots to date Izzie; very striking! I agree with Grahame about the tree tops.

I only did use Viveza's structure and overdid it... After which I did the black and white points. Thanks for the comment.

Yes! You are right! I had been watching the weather conditions way before we left because I knew one way or the other we will be flying a private plane (I thought a Cessna) to Punta Gorda for an EAA event but did not expect this airplane to pick us up at our airport. So I really wasn't prepared for the windy conditions from early afternoon to the next morning for the duration of our stay there. I finally gave in and went shopping for some hoody after three days. It was freaking cold but OK during the day. The wind was terrible but the good thing was that the noseeums or sand bugs were not as abundance at night. I made sure I had benadryl to prevent me from scratching. I am allergic to Florida because of those bugs...

Thanks for the information...appreciate it very much.

That was very nice of you to say that...I appreciate your approval. I am trying to upload the original here but it doesn't seem to like it. I will try again later...

After doing a duplicate I tried to load it at Viveza 2 and fiddle with the structure. It was looking good until I did the output sharpening in Photoshop. I will try to upload the original translated to JPG. I tried it in my response to John but it stopped 78%...Nope! it is stopping the upload at 12%. I will try again later...there must be a lot members around uploading at the same time...Thanks for commenting...

Thanks Geoff...as I had already said, it was the last sharpening which I should not have done. I noticed it too late after I had uploaded it...the scene is really very nice...I did not even think of changing anything from my camera settings at all. I should have used the 14 but the tree at the right is a little bit overpower so I zoomed to 24mm instead and moved a little bit on the angle because the gasoline station at the FBO were in clear sight. All these afterthoughts of what I should have and should not have done dawns on me after uploading...thanks for commenting. At least I got the sky...
