Lake Superior
Okay - this is a bit of a strange image for me, but I was trying to sum up my impressions of Lake Superior in one single image. After spending the last 10 days driving around the whole lake, this is what I can up with. Not much.
I pointed the camera straight ahead to the north-west, totally level on the tripod and snapped away as interesting wave patterns came in. Timing was around 10 minutes after sunset, so there was still a bit of an orange glow in the west, but "blue hour" was definitely underway. Exposure of 1/6th sec at f/11 at ISO 100, so there is a slight blurring of the waves.

Lake Superior is the largest fresh water lake in the world (by surface area) and contains 10% of the world's fresh water. Water temperature is extremely cold running around 4°C / 39°F. Even when it is well behaved, you can't really trust that things won't change. Definitely an interesting experience.
There is very little manipulation in this image; black point, white point and a bit of clarity, vibrance and haze reduction. A touch of a vignette, sharpening and a bit of exposure correction. I blew away a few dust bunnies on the sensor and a few tiny clouds in the sky. That's all.

Re: Lake Superior
This one definitely seems out of character for you, Manfred. But it speaks volumes that you chose this one as representative of your impressions of the lake.
