    Minshuku - Sado Island

A minshuku is a traditional Japanese B&B; a typical place to spend the night when one is off the beaten track. Smaller than a ryokan (a traditional Japanese hotel), where one sleeps on futons put down on tatami mats. The services can be similar; communal bathrooms as well as communal showers and baths (more like a hot tub).

This is the one we stayed in for our night on Sado Island. It was located in a traditional farmhouse on the east coast quite near the Sea of Japan.

From the outside it looks emaculate. Thanks for sharing.
