Every time I get the landscape urge I'm without my tripod or monopod. I like the color version, but converted just to better analyze the composition. I wanted a deep DOF but didn't really have a point of interest in the foreground, I thought if eyes drift to the background it would help the composition. Thoughts and critique welcome.

Hi John The tones in the BnW image are similar to each other. Because there is a lot of green in the scene an infrared conversion might suit the image. I'm just thinking loudly

I prefer the colour one more John as Binnur said the tones in the B&W edit seem to be all the same.

Seems like a good time to tell a short story...I'm a little hard of hearing and it often requires
my brood to repeat questions that they ask. The other day, one pipes-up and asks if we could
go eat at McDonalds..."what" I said.
One pipes up and loudly says, Dad, just nod your head and say yes"...one more smart A--.

I suspect that cropping a little from the top, and having a different size ratio, will create a stronger image.

My thoughts exactly! Wonder what it would look in IR?

How about finding a way to emphasize the blue water at the back of the shot? it could draw the eye nicely.

Hi John I like this one better as there are different tones in the image now.I don't know if you used a default IR conversion or not. You might darken the very bright parts according to your taste if you want.

Hi Matt. I'm not into IR yet because I don't have an IR filter and I don't like making IR conversions with PP. IMO somehow they don't give the same effect as the IR filters do. But I have to tell you that a speedlight and an IR filter have been on my shopping list for some time already. I don't want to buy them immediately because I need to shoot and edit some more photos and improve myself a bit more before taking other steps in photography
