A great photo Andy, Nicely composed. Alas, I am not a great fan of the "milky water" concept, but accept that is what you wanted to show and you did it well.
Lovely greens, very nice image![]()
Nice image Andy, you should shoot this again in autumn with all the browns and yellows![]()
Nicely done.
I am with Matt on this, would look great with fall colours.
Cheers: Allan
Thanks Matt, I will do just that😀
Matt - unlike some others, I don't have a problem with silky water, so long as it enhances the overall image. Everyone has a different view of how to best represent moving water and frankly there is no right or wrong answer.
That being said, I find the silky water in this scene rather over the top. I had a peek at your exif data; a 30 second exposure for the conditions you were shooting under looks to be excessive. I'd like to suggest that you start bracketing your exposures and run a series of shots to see which representation works for you. I find that for waterfalls, I generally rarely have to go over 5 seconds and am usually in the 1/4 sec to 5 sec range.
Parameters - ISO 125, f/3.5, 4s at 62mm focal length. I kept the ISO low to minimize noise. There is still some texture in the water.

Looks like a great location to sit and enjoy.
This is a lovely scene. The trees and moss on the rocks is really good. I do like the milky water look most of the time but I think that this is a bit too milky.
