    Aww, this is nice Brian May be just a bit more brightness only at the intersection of the two leaves where the big drops are.

    certainly all of the pieces are there. It doesn't quite follow the rules but it does work.

    As far as I know you know how to use masks in Gimp. So adding a brightness adjustment layer with a mask and using a soft brush might help

    I am a rank beginner in masks but I will have a look.

    Brian, you might get away with a slight increase in brightness and then an increase in vibrance.
    That said, it a very pleasant and soothing image though more 'reverie' for me than awe or terror.

    Okay... maybe next time i need a soothing plant with a half hidden beasty?
